Anita claims Texas as her home, although she was born in the show-me state of Missouri. After earning her certificate to teach art and completing her BFA in 1982 from Missouri State University, she moved to Dallas and began working as a graphic designer. In 2001 she was offered a teaching position at Trinity Christian Academy, where she taught middle and high school art for 12 years. In 2013, she took her teaching career overseas and taught elementary art at MEF International School, Istanbul, Turkey, and then at The American International School of Chennai, India. Anita enjoys walking, painting and exploring. She has one married daughter who also lives in Austin.
