This begins my 20th year teaching at Regents and my second year in SOR. Since God led me here after being on the mission field in Russia for two years, I have certainly received more from the Regents community than I could ever give. In fact, I joke that in my first year I should have paid the school for all the things I learned about a Christ-centered marriage and raising kids. Though my degrees are in Finance and German, I teach Latin here at Regents. I have taught in all three divisions -- something I consider a unique gift. I loved my experiences with each team and age level.

During this COVID quarantine, my husband and I have discovered how much we really like each other. We have been baking sourdough, brewing kombucha and going for long walks. We are both Longhorns but have a 20 year old son that just finished his freshman year at Westmont in Santa Barbara, CA.

Earl is married (Melissa), has three children (Kieron, Fletcher, and Caelyn) and a fun, loving, and energetic dog (Marshall). A native Texan, Mindy graduated from The University of Texas in 2003 with a B.A. in Psychology. She pursued an M.A. in Professional Counseling at Texas State University - San Marcos fully expecting to become a counselor in private practice, not a Grammar School teacher. During graduate school, however, she began babysitting for two Regents families (Amy & Ron Duncan and Julie Ann & Doug Hartman). Impressed with the spiritual and academic formation she saw in their children, Mindy learned more about Regents and classical education and felt the Lord leading her to be a part of this unique community. After graduation, Mindy worked briefly for Presbyterian Children's Homes and Services, but her heart was at Regents. In 2008 she began teaching 5th Grade as a homeroom generalist. After a stint in 4th Grade, she returned to 5th as the Composition specialist and also serves as the Grammar School Composition Curriculum Coordinator. Mindy's guiding scripture in teaching Composition and hoping to instill a love of words in her students is John 1:1-4 & 14a "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. ... And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us..."

Outside of school, Mindy can be found loving life with her husband Clay and their daughter. They are partners at The Austin Stone Community Church (West Campus) and work internationally with Africa New Life Ministries. Mindy loves to travel and is often mentally planning their next adventure.

They and their sons, Drew and John, sing in the choir and serve as a communion team at Emmanuel Presbyterian Church in Cedar Park. Drew, an Eagle Scout, is working in College Station and saving for school. John, a Life Scout, sings in the school choir and is on the wrestling team at Cedar Park High School. Beverly’s favorite activity is landscaping the backyard.

Biology is a beautiful science. It's fun to study the layers upon layers of complexity in living systems and to understand how all of the parts function together. The more we understand, the more cause we have to praise our Creator for what He has made.

I am the proud father of 4 children, all boys except 3. Jessica(33), my oldest, has blessed my wife, Susan and myself with 3 exceptional grandchildren(and 4 is on the way). Josiah(26)is working for a catering company in Denver and coaching soccer at the charter school where his wife, Cindy works. Kathleen(17) is currently a senior at Lockhart High School and playing trumpet in the jazz band and my youngest Emilie (13) is a french horn playing superstar in 8th grade.
    Hobbies:
As a family we love to travel in the summer alternating large cities and national parks. This past summer we explored "Rocky Mountain National Park" and next summer we are planning to visit Seattle and the great northwest.
    What are your outside projects/accomplishments?
I love working with wood and recently created and installed crown molding in our house along hardwood casing for the entries of the living and dining rooms. I am also working on a trundle bed for my daughter using old reclaimed doors.

    What quotable quote inspires you?
For the last couple of years, since visiting Montecello, I have been inspired by Thomas Jefferson along with the men who influenced him, Montesquieu and John Locke. Jefferson said "When people fear the government there is Tyranny, When the government fear the people there is liberty." I would be remiss if I did not include one of my favorite John Wayne lines from the film "Red River" "Don't sit down, we got quitters to bury."

What are your some of your favorites?
Sport:Hockey (GO HAWKS!)... Books: Pilgrim's Progress, Mere Christianity, How Should We Then Live, 1776, Pride and Prejudice, and this summers reading "The Boys in the Boat"...Author: C.S. Lewis......Bible Verse: Gal 5:6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith epressing itself through love...Hobbies: Woodworking, Travel, Movies

She decided to attend the University of Texas in Austin and study mechanical engineering; after graduation, she was fortunate to work in the industry for seven years. First, at Compaq Computer, where she met her husband Dan. Not long after, they moved to Austin where Roberta worked at Dell Computer. At both jobs, she worked on the mechanical design teams designing desktops and laptops. Once Dan and Roberta started having children, she stayed at home to be with their three boys. She began homeschooling them when their oldest turned five years old. Each year they asked the Lord if homeschooling was how they were to be educating their sons. They continued homeschooling through their high school years. Roberta began teaching with One Day Academy (Christian enrichment classes) nine years ago. The last couple of years, she was teaching four days a week with ODA. Roberta taught every level of math from 4th grade to pre-calculus, elementary sciences, engineering classes, and two levels of physics. She discovered over the last few years that her teaching passion is physics. Therefore, she wanted to concentrate on that subject and dive in deeper. At home and in the classroom, Roberta has been blessed to be able to teach subjects she loves and to be able to intertwine it with God in our lives. Roberta looks forward to energizing students about physics and our Lord! There is nothing more satisfying then opening up someone's eyes to new possibilities and ideas!

Sarah was blessed to attend graduate school through New York University in Paris before her girls came along. Sarah began her relationship with the French language in a middle school language exploration class, continued to learn the language basics throughout high school, and went on to pursue acquisition as a French major in college, including a semester of studying in the south of France. The missions trips to France and Haiti opened Sarah's eyes and heart to the Francophone people in ways a classroom never could. Not only does Sarah's love for the language drive her instruction, but also her heart for communicating the love of God with those who speak French.

When she's not teaching, Sarah loves to bake delicious desserts. Sarah also enjoys cooking healthy food (probably to bring balance considering the yummy sweets she makes). Time spent creating in the kitchen is one of Sarah's favorite things to share with her daughters.
